Facing vision loss can feel like suddenly being abandoned in a foreign land, surrounded by people but no one speaks your language. I’m here to welcome you to the culture of blindness and assure you that you are not alone. I have been blind for over twenty years. Experiencing the empowerment that comes from adapting to vision loss drives me to share my strategies. Studying web technology allowed me to run my own small business, selling my handmade pottery online. Now as a certified Blindness Assistive Technology Instructor, I enjoy observing the needs of individual’s and developing personalized, goal-oriented lesson plans.
This website is in its infancy. I have developed it as a project to experiment with web accessibility and providing the best screen reader user experience. My goal is to grow this site with instructional videos, blog articles on how to do things blind, recommendations for accessible products, links to resources for the blind, and resources for other Assistive Technology Instructors.
